Post Sun 'n Fun Cessna 180-185 Gathering at Leeward Air Ranch

Dirk and Donna Leeward are hosting a post Sun 'n Fun gathering for club members at their home at Leeward Air Ranch (FD04) 66 nm north of Sun 'n Fun in Ocala, Florida on Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26, 2009.

Visit http://www.leewardairranch.com/directions for airport info and directions. Park next to the other Skywagons on the east side of the runway about 2,000 feet from the north end. Please do not park directly in front of the house and pool.

If driving, call #222 or #444 from the gate. Our address is 8492 Leeward Air Ranch Circle, Ocala, FL 34472. When you enter the gate, turn left on SE 72nd Ave, the second left. Do not cross the runway (even if Google Maps tells you that's the way to our house). Continue north to the stop sign and turn right onto Leeward Air Ranch Circle. It will curve around the runway turn south. At the stop sign, continue south on the dirt road and take the next right to our home. Park on the north side of the house.

For those who are "airshowed out" by Saturday, there will be a Saturday afternoon social time and flying off the 6,200 foot sod runway. Dirk will be testing out his floats on nearby Lake Weir. Some of the cheapest fuel in Florida is available 20 nm SE at Leesburg (KLEE) and 18 nm W at Dunnellon (X35). The Silver Springs Nature Park http://www.SilverSprings.com is only 15 minutes north and the Big Daddy Don Garlitz Museum of Drag Racing http://www.garlits.com is 15 minutes west. We should have some cars available to borrow. If you wish, Enterprise will deliver a car.

Dinner will start around 7 or so after the rest arrive from Lakeland after the airshow. Please BYOB. If enough pony up in advance, we plan to have live entertainment and dancing around the pool.

Camping is encouraged with a shower and bathroom next to the tiedown area. Hotels are available approximately 15 minutes away. Call for suggestions. Wake up Sunday morning to a hot breakfast. Hang around as long as you like or head home for Monday work.
